Significant Labor Law Poster Updates: Federal Labor Law Poster Update News, July 2007 -The federal government has increased the federal minimum wagefrom $5.15 per hour to $5.85 an hour. The federal minimum wagewill increase again on July 24th 2008, and once again on July24, 2009 (to $6.55/hr. and $7.25/hr., respectively). The newfederal minimum wage notice incorporates all three of thesescheduled increases.
Federal Labor Law Update News, Jan 2006On December 19th, 2005, the federal government issued a mandatoryrevision to the March 2005 USERRA ACT Posting. Employers in all states,regardless of size, are required to have this revised 2006 USERRA ACTnotice posted by January 18th, 2006. This requirement applies even foremployers with no current active-duty military or reservist employees.
New Federal Posting Requirement: Veterans Benefits Improvement Act (VBIA) - March 2005On Dec. 10th, 2004, President Bush signed the new Veterans BenefitsImprovement Act (VBIA) into law as an amendment to the federalUniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994(USERRA). This new Act increases the maximum period of health carecoverage for employees called to active duty (from 18 months to 24months). It also broadens housing, education and other benefits for thenation's veterans and their families.
