Can refresher safety video training be given in segments? Safety video refresher training may be given in segments so long as the required 8 hours have been completed by the employees anniversary date. Supervisors, who will assume control of the incident scene beyond the first responder awareness level, shall receive at least 24 hours of safety video training equal to the first responder operations level and in addition have competency in the following areas and the employer shall so certify: know and be able to implement the employer's incident command system, know how to implement the employer's emergency response plan, know and understand the hazards and risks associated with employees working in chemical protective clothing, know how to implement the local emergency response plan, know of the state emergency response plan and of the response team, and lastly, know and understand the importance of decontamination procedures.

This includes any employees who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances ( including hazardous waste) and who are engaged in one of the following operations: clean-up operations that are conducted at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites; corrective actions involving clean-up operations; voluntary clean-up operations at sites recognized by federal, state, local, or other governmental body as uncontrolled hazardous waste sites; operations involving hazardous wastes that are conducted at treatment, storage, and disposal facilities; and emergency response operations for releases of, or substantial threats of release of, hazardous substances regardless of the location of the hazard.
