Overview:

Based on Advanced Trauma Life Support, this program focuses on the primary survey and assessment of the trauma patient. The primary survey deals with the immediate life-threatening conditions: A(Airway), B(Breathing/ventilation), C(Circulation), D(Disability), and E(Exposure). The "Golden Hour" is also described. Excellent visuals illustrate how to assess the patient, injury characteristics, and methods of treatment. Psychological care of the patient is considered as well.
