Overview:

Focuses on the knowledge and understanding of Type I diabetes required by nurses who provide education, supervision, and support to insulin-dependent children. Prepares nurses to help diabetic children develop the necessary survival skills of proper nutrition, blood glucose monitoring, maintaining normal blood sugar levels, mastering insulin injections, and understanding diabetic emergencies.
