Overview:

This program examines the medications used to alleviate psychotic symptoms. Dramatic re-enactments illustrate the positive and negative symptoms as well as features such as cognitive dysfunction and dysphonic mood. Commonly prescribed agents used in the treatment of acute psychotic symptoms are presented. The precautions, side effects and drug interactions are addressed. In interviews with professionals and patients, the impact of antipsychotic agents on patients with psychotic symptoms is discussed. This video is one of a four-part series.
